Jenson Shires breed  "The Worlds Tallest Horse!"

Welcome (We are constantly updating our site)

Welcome to the Jenson Shire Farm which is located on the Missouri River Bluffs overlooking the beautiful Loess Hills of western Iowa.  Our farm is only 18 miles north of Epply Air Port in Omaha and just across the Missouri River from Interstate 29 and 680.

We pasture nearly 150 acres of grass land that provides our Shire herd feed from May through Nov.  We normally have 40 to 50 shires on the farm.

Please browse through our site and become familiar with our farm and the services that are available to you.  We also welcome your e-mail or telephone calls for the most personal attention.

Read, Ponder and enjoy your visit to the largest quality Shire Breeder west of the Mississippi River. This is demonstrated by the top placing of our stock in the show ring.

It is our desire to further educate the reader of this web site to the over all picture of what is involved in the production and maintenance of quality Shire horses.

So come on in and look around.  Take your time, read the articles, look at the pictures and leave us a message.

Our Mission

When we became involved with Shires approximately 15 years ago it became apparent that there were a limited number of quality breeders of Shires. If this outstanding breed was to survive we could see a need for breeders that had a desire to produce quality Shires.

We at Jenson Shires breed for excellence and it is our goal to produce the best quality Shires in North America
